Data from China Market Monitor for January to October indicates that mid-to-high-end products, represented by high-output gas water heaters and high-airflow range hoods, have seen increased market share. Taking the gas water heater and gas stove markets as examples, despite retail volumes declining by 2.9% and 2.7% year-on-year respectively, retail sales value grew by 1.4% and 1.2% year-on-year.

The recovery trend in the kitchen appliance sector is reflected in the recently released third-quarter reports of listed kitchen appliance companies. Major listed players including Robam Appliances, Wanhe Electric, Vatti, Midea, and Changqing have mostly maintained growth momentum.

This recovery in kitchen and bathroom appliances signals a successful industry transformation. Indeed, this upward trend is evident in the recently released third-quarter reports from kitchen appliance manufacturers. Compared to other home appliance sectors like color TVs and refrigerators/washers, the third-quarter reports from listed kitchen appliance companies—including Robam Appliances, Vanward Electric, Vatti Co., Midea Group, and Changqing Co.—still highlight “growth” as the primary theme.
